We're here to make sure members in Wales have a voice. We manage external relations with stakeholders and policymakers including the Welsh Government, Senedd Cymru and organisations with an interest in child health. Our staff team works with paediatricians, allied health professionals, the Welsh Government and other policymakers to promote paediatric services and health policy that improve the health of children and young people across Wales.

Wales Executive Committee

The Wales EC represents the membership of RCPCH in Wales, and coordinates and manages College activities in Wales. The National Specialist Advisory Group is a sub group offering guidance on strategy, policy and clinical issues.

On community child health services

In June 2025, our 'Collaborative healthcare in Wales' report outlined the devastating impact of prolonged underinvestment in community child health services and called for the Welsh Government to focus on early years intervention through needs-led services for children in the community.

On paediatric waiting times

In February 2024, our 'Worried and waiting in Wales' report demonstrated evidence of the huge and unsustainable demands on paediatric services in Wales, with recommendations to invest in the child health workforce, improve data quality, reduce health inequalities and ensure age-appropriate care.

Welsh Royal Colleges Child Health Collaborative

This Collaborative is the first of its kind, comprising 20 Royal Colleges and professional bodies who together ensure a a sharper focus on the needs of babies, children and young people across Wales.
